Palty bleach Root Re-touch review

Hey guys.

I haven't really written a review for a while. I've been quite busy this year. So I had dyed my hair red a couple of months ago and this seems to have been the only colour that i am willing to keep. Unfortunately it is a very difficult colour to keep.

First a story

Jeon Hyosung (i really liked her hair colour)

My natural hair colour is a very dark (almost black) brown. When I told my friend I wanted to get my hair red like Hyosung from Secret (The picture above) she told me not to bleach it first. Instead I dyed it a lighter brown with Kao Liese Prettia Marshmellow Brown and it turned out like this

Not a bad colour but I wanted it to be red so I used a red hair dye from a brand called "Yellow" with a mix of 20% Peroxide and I got this

It was a really cool colour. I've kept this for two months. Though it did fade a bit over time and my roots started growing back so it was looking more like this

The red was still there but it faded. I was using CINTA Auburn shampoo occasionally to at least refresh it a little but it was still mostly brown but red in the light (btw i got my hair cut shorter)

and now for the review

I really wanted to keep the red colour so this time I was just going to refresh the colour. Last time, in order to get the black out I coloured my whole hair with the Kao Liese Prettia Marshmellow brown to get a lighter brown so I could have a darker red. This time my hair was already a lighter colour so I just needed to get to the roots. I forgot to take a photo of my black roots so I do apologise.

This time I used Palty Bleach Root Re-touch to get the roots of my hair a lighter colour.

It comes with a brush, gloves, instructions and two formulas that you squeeze individually onto a tray (I suggest you do it in small amounts and that you wash the tray afterwards because you might have enough product left for another time). It smelt like bleach at first but then it had a nice pleasant smell after a while. So I used the brush and got to my roots. I gave it about 25 minutes waiting time because I didn't want my roots to be too much lighter than the rest of my hair.

Results

not a bad colour I must say

It turned out quite okay and I was able to re do the red over all my hair without the top looking darker than the rest of my hair. I would suggest using it only for root touch up. I was not aiming for blonde roots but I thought I would mention that this isn't a good product to use if you want to go blonde but other than that if you want to go a lighter brown or a different colour like me and have naturally dark hair then this product is for you. I wouldn't mind trying this colour when I get sick of red but I'll probably use Palty Bleach natural brown for it just because this one is designed for root re-touch not for dying the whole hair. The brush it came with was a little small for my liking but I suppose it was good to get into small areas.

Rating overall: 4.5/5 It was a great product and it was made so that you can use it again.

Pros
  • made my black roots lighter
  • didn't smell bad
  • didn't damage my hair
  • easier to re-dye my hair
  • enough product left over
Cons
  • Not a con for me but it will not go any lighter than that colour.

I quite like this red colour and Palty Root Re-touch really helped blend it in better than if I had left the roots as they were.
