Skin care for acne prone Skin (night time)

Hey guys

I've had a lot of people ask me about how I keep my skin good. Now I don't normally get acne anymore because I'm past the hormonal teenage phase of my life (I only get them when I'm under stress or when it's that time of the month). However a lot of my friends and younger cousins can get bad acne and I thought I would share what products I used when I had a lot of acne

The trick is to not use too many chemicals, eat healthy, stay hydrated, exercise and to keep your skin hydrated as well. I don't usually use these products anymore because I don't normally get acne so I just stick with brightening and skin soothing products and crack open the pimple cream when I do get them.

1. Cleansing

Now removing make up is necessary at night time, mostly because make up can clog your skin when it needs time to breathe. Using a light cleansing oil (not a heavy one since you're looking at your acne prone skin not so much dry skin) and a lip and eye make up remover, the make up should come off easily and makes the next step easier. I currently use Etude House Real Art light cleansing oil and The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Lip and Eye remover (Bad english, they forgot the 'make up' part of their name so it sounds like it will remove your lips and eyes). What you do is that you apply the lip and eye make up remover first to remove that part of your make up. Use a cotton pad for this part. To get rid or your face make up use a cleansing oil and massage around your skin for a good couple of minutes. Your make up should have been removed by then.

Using a nice green tea cleanser is great for acne prone skin. I used The Face Shop Clean Face Foam cleanser. I liked the feel of it. My face came out clean but not dried out. My sister even swapped to it even though she didn't get much acne (grrr that's sister's for you). After the make up removal phase, wet your face and squeeze out as much foaming cleanser as you need.

I use a scrub about 1-2 times a week. You do not need any really rough scrubs otherwise it will flare up your acne. Right now I am using The Face Shop's Smart Peel Honey and Black Sugar. What I like about it is that it feels as thought it's actually getting rid of the dead skin and unclogging the pores. Use it on dry skin after cleansing and then wash it off with luke warm water.

2. Mask n Tone

Not sure if they sell this brand in other countries but ever since I was younger and breaking out like crazy I've been using Formula 10.0.6 at least twice a week. After scrubbing apply this mask to purify your pores so they could be cleaner and therefore lessen the chances of breakouts. I also notice that when I had one of those angry giant pimples this mask not only pops it (gross I know) but shrinks it as well. If they sell this in your country I do recommend purchasing it. They have other types of masks suited to different skin types as well.

For the rest of the skincare for acne prone skin I do recommend purchasing products for acne prone skin and for combination skin. A mixture of both should really help. You still need to calm your skin while also getting rid of your acne.

For Toner use a nice tea tree or green tea based toner after the mud mask or cleansing (depending on what you feel like) and tone that skin. When I had break outs I used Etude House AC Clinic Toner and The Face Shop Clean Face Toner. Both worked pretty well for me.

For sheet masks I used a mixture of brands. Once again any green tea and tea tree ones should help with acne prone skin. My favourite one to use for break outs is OTAKU Cedar Myogenic Acne Conditioning Mask. I love the feel of it and the next morning I woke up and my face looked a lot better. If your like me and don't get too many break outs but still have marks later also get OTAKU Tranexamic acid whitening mask. This one aims at blemish marks which can be left over from acne. Also try out OTAKU Chamomile Soothing Mask to calm down your skin. Use sheet masks twice a week because the face usually needs a bit of a pick me up.

3. Repair

After using the face masks I massage my skin so it can absorb and give it about a few minutes before moving onto the next step. Apply Essence (once again green tea or tea tree) to your skin, massage it in and wait about 5 minutes for the next step. I used THE FACE SHOP Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterful Serum. This will soothe your skin and hydrate it.

You can also apply pimple cream in this step if you want. Sometimes I apply THE FACE SHOP Clean Face Spot Correct on my pimples and THE FACE SHOP White Seed Ampoule on my left over scars.

4. Moisturize

After 5 minutes have passed apply some lotion. In a lot of Korean Skin Care Routines they will have Emulsion and Rich Moisteriser. I am a lazy person so I would normally use one or the other or get a rich emulsion and use that instead. For acne prone skin I highly recommend THE FACE SHOP Clean Face Blemish Zero Clinic Solution. It also has Serum I found out recently but I prefer using an essence just to give my skin that boost. What I like is that it hydrates enough that I don't need a rich moisturizer but it isn't too rich for acne prone skin. What I don't like is the smell because it's a little overpowering for me.

5. Extras?

These are completely optional. This is what I do to get that extra oomf.

After moisteriser wait until it has absorbed before the next step. Sleeping Packs have been quite popular recently but this one I purchased years ago when my acne was bad. This one is called Formula 10.0.6 Keep your Cool breakout calming mask. It works as a moisteriser and to help calm your skin at night. Only apply it at night as it can leave a bit of a film over your skin. Wash it off in the morning and you should have calmer skin

For any extra acne treatments try using something like Spot Patches or Powder solutions. You want your skin to be hydrated but the pimples can be dried out. I used Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder spot or if I was super desperate to get rid of pimples because of an important event I use Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot patch. I only recommend these for night time use as they look very obvious on the skin and Spot patches are to be left on overnight anyway.

That was my skincare routine for when I had a bad case of acne. I still use some of these when I need them but other than that I have grown up and I am now using skincare products for brightening and combination skin.

Palty bleach Root Re-touch review

Hey guys.

I haven't really written a review for a while. I've been quite busy this year. So I had dyed my hair red a couple of months ago and this seems to have been the only colour that i am willing to keep. Unfortunately it is a very difficult colour to keep.

First a story

Jeon Hyosung (i really liked her hair colour)

My natural hair colour is a very dark (almost black) brown. When I told my friend I wanted to get my hair red like Hyosung from Secret (The picture above) she told me not to bleach it first. Instead I dyed it a lighter brown with Kao Liese Prettia Marshmellow Brown and it turned out like this

Not a bad colour but I wanted it to be red so I used a red hair dye from a brand called "Yellow" with a mix of 20% Peroxide and I got this

It was a really cool colour. I've kept this for two months. Though it did fade a bit over time and my roots started growing back so it was looking more like this

The red was still there but it faded. I was using CINTA Auburn shampoo occasionally to at least refresh it a little but it was still mostly brown but red in the light (btw i got my hair cut shorter)

and now for the review

I really wanted to keep the red colour so this time I was just going to refresh the colour. Last time, in order to get the black out I coloured my whole hair with the Kao Liese Prettia Marshmellow brown to get a lighter brown so I could have a darker red. This time my hair was already a lighter colour so I just needed to get to the roots. I forgot to take a photo of my black roots so I do apologise.

This time I used Palty Bleach Root Re-touch to get the roots of my hair a lighter colour.

It comes with a brush, gloves, instructions and two formulas that you squeeze individually onto a tray (I suggest you do it in small amounts and that you wash the tray afterwards because you might have enough product left for another time). It smelt like bleach at first but then it had a nice pleasant smell after a while. So I used the brush and got to my roots. I gave it about 25 minutes waiting time because I didn't want my roots to be too much lighter than the rest of my hair.

Results

not a bad colour I must say

It turned out quite okay and I was able to re do the red over all my hair without the top looking darker than the rest of my hair. I would suggest using it only for root touch up. I was not aiming for blonde roots but I thought I would mention that this isn't a good product to use if you want to go blonde but other than that if you want to go a lighter brown or a different colour like me and have naturally dark hair then this product is for you. I wouldn't mind trying this colour when I get sick of red but I'll probably use Palty Bleach natural brown for it just because this one is designed for root re-touch not for dying the whole hair. The brush it came with was a little small for my liking but I suppose it was good to get into small areas.

Rating overall: 4.5/5 It was a great product and it was made so that you can use it again.

Pros
  • made my black roots lighter
  • didn't smell bad
  • didn't damage my hair
  • easier to re-dye my hair
  • enough product left over
Cons
  • Not a con for me but it will not go any lighter than that colour.

I quite like this red colour and Palty Root Re-touch really helped blend it in better than if I had left the roots as they were.
